Chris and I developed some questions that we asked our fellow class mates and student friends, to understand what people might think of our overall product. Below are the list of questions and answers that we collected:


Q1. Do you find loud music annoying, specifically when trying to sleep?

Answer: Yes: 95% No: 5%

Q2. What would you consider to be the most annoying genre of loudly played music?

Answer: Dance, Heavy metal, Niche/Happy Hardcore, Heavy bass/Drum and bass/ Dubstep, Cheesy pop/dance, Reverberation/Anything.

Q3. What would be your method of reacting to loud music being constantly played?

Answer: Politely tell them to shut up
Lie in bed and try to get some sleep
Complain to them or complain to landlord
Get revenge/retaliate with your own music
Stamp on floor
Put news/television on really loud

Q4. What coping methods would you use to deal with loud music?

Answer: Ear Plugs
Sleeping pills/Herbal drugs
Get drunk
Pillow over ears
Play iPod/MP3

Q5. On arrival at your student halls/accommodation you find a welcome pack in your room with various forms of advertising to promote awareness of loud music and the possible methods of coping i.e. ear plugs. Do you think this would be beneficial in the prevention of excessively loud music playing?

Answer: Yes: 84% No: 16%


This survey was based on a target group of 75 18-25 year olds with either percentages or the most common answers recorded.
