- Our 3 proposal boards that we did. Each containing our design concept, content and method of delivery.

Today we had a crit, that involved us presenting the 3 boards that we had created last week. Each explaining our concept, content and method of delivery. From the results of the crit, we gave a good presentation with a clear point on what we intended to do. We were then given time to do a Q and A, which turned out to be the most useful part of the whole thing. Chris and I had discussed some questions that we really wanted to ask eg. 'do you think our target audience should be more specific?' etc. we had a good talk with the other groups and came away think we needed to re-evaluate where we had gotten to, and re-establish the best way to get our point across.

We sat together and thought it through and decided to scrap the idea of creating 4 books, containing white lie and black lies. Instead we though about creating a Children illustrated book that parents could read to their kids to establish the problems with lying and the consequences it has. We decided essentially it is important for parents to have a bond with their children, where children realise that telling the truth isn't bad and that they won't get severally reprimanded for doing so and by targeting them at such a young age, helps condition them to the idea.

We thought it would be good to have one page as the cause i.e the lie and then the following page have the consequence of that lie, with a minor punishment which the parents could use in the future if that child had disobeyed. Instead of yelling and screaming at the child for lying, it would be simple things such as, toys being confiscated for the day or not being able to play in the garden the next day. As i am an avid 'Super Nanny' viewer i have picked up on a lot of techniques that work with disciplining young children, and help the parent and child get a long better in the future, and these sort of techniques will be implemented in the book.
So after this we decided to re-do our boards:

Concept - Creating an eye catching and visually stimulating illustrated children's book, showing the cause and consequences of lying. Building up the bond between parent and child, with trust and responsibility.

Content - 5/6 short stories depicting a lie happening and then the consequences of that lie.

Method of Delivery - A book containing the stories, possibly a website where parents can get together to discuss ideas on how to help further that bond. Book maybe used a stepping stone tool.
