Next stage of idea generation

After looking at Cardboy and my ideas i wanted to see how far i've come and how far i need to go. By evaluating i can see where the strengths lie in the project and what i need to scrap. The idea so far is to follow along the similar lines of the Cardboy idea, with creating an illustrative character that you can pop out and build yourself. Within that would be information about yourself, possible information about the course too. It was also be colour coded so that you could find people who have similar interests as you in order to make friends easier. I was thinking of doing this by the next lot of students filling in an online profile either through facebook or something similar so that the information could be then printed onto the card so that when they arrive it is already for them to make. I was also thinking about packaging the cut out itself, so that it comes as a sort of welcome pack. Or the idea could be a PDF. that the students download and fill in and make themselves so that they present it on the first day, the only problem i can see with that is that they wont be able to print on card necessarily, which in turn would damage the how product.

There are a lot of avenues i need to explore in order to work out whether this product will work, but at the moment i am positive about the general idea of having a friend in that first week made out of card. I think the information is going to be key to its success so i need to be very careful about what i am going to put in the product.
