I knew after i had altered the vectored asset of black beard that i would have to change the timing around this part of the composition because it was taking far too long to get from black beard to jack sparrow. So firstly i started out by moving the map lines along faster. Bringing them in earlier adds more to the sequence and gives the viewer something else to look at and engage with. This allowed me to play with the speed of things and have certain things working faster then others, giving a dynamic interaction.
As you can see above, there was a lot of key frames surrounding this small piece of animation so working out which to edit was a little tricky, but after running the sequence through a few times i could pick out the most important parts to edit. The camera angle was key as was moving the port royal composition further forward so that it would run earlier.
Here illustrates the map lines moving in just as the black beard animation sequence stops.
It was important to have one thing stop and another start so that there wasn't any lingering,
just watching over things is very boring.
The next problem i had was speeding up the movement from one
side to the other. It was still taking too long to move across
and see the port royal sequence.
Once the port royal had been spelt out the next issue that
arose was moving the lighting. Because as you can see
the screen is blocked by the lighting and therefore missing some
of the animation
There are a few things that i need to change in this still, and that is moving the camera pan to the right sooner so that you can see the port royal being spelt out and spend a bit more time hovering over it so the viewer can read it. Another element is pulling back the lighting cone so that there wont be any animation missed. Again all of this will edit the pace of the animation, but i really like some things going fast some going slow it gives a variety for the viewer to witness and keep them entertained.
