Blackbeard - Moving faster

Thursday, 10 February 2011

Here the movement has been tweaked, so the sequence
moves across faster. Reaching the middle sequence sooner
therefore giving more time to the later part of the animtation.

I wanted to wait till the black beard animation was out the
frame before the port royal animation happened.
So as not to detract from the sequence, and the eye can just
focus on whats happening in front of them. I also managed
to slow the pace here a little giving the viewer time to read
and focus on whats being written.

I also changed the cone of light so that as the animation of
port royal was finishing the cone pulled away revealing
to the viewer where they scene would travel next.

This sort of anticipation keeps the viewer interested,
wondering what is going to happen next. By not revealing too
much or hiding too much means that the viewer is kept
on their toes.

This whole sequence from the beginning has been quite hard to get right, but i think finally i have got the hang of it and the timing is just right. It doesn't reveal too much but it keeps the audience engaged and entertained. I am now happy with the opening part of my sequence.
